Shahid, by artist Khalid Albaih, is an interactive audio-visual installation that confronts the individual’s role as a witness in the War on Gaza.

My collaboration involved designing an audio interaction that helps visitors record names from a scroll that listed people who have died in the war to date. 











The machine presented visitors with a simple red button. When pressed it started recording. Exhibition visitors could scroll through the long list of names and record them reciting the names into the mic. Once the button was released, the recording stopped. The recording was then added to a running playlist which was played back in the exhibition space. 

The interaction was placed at the end of the exhibition. Hence, every new recording added to the number of witness
